Japan Run 4 Miles

Today was Mother’s Day! I thought what better way to start Mother’s Day then with a run with my husband! This was a beautiful, warm and sunny day. Japan Run honors the culture of Japan with Japanese food, activities and music after the run at the Bandshell in Central Park.

With the Japan Run, we run the ‘inner loop’ of Central Park. We started together on East Drive at 68th Street and then we continued on our way up Cat Hill along East Drive to the 102nd Street Transverse, around to the West Drive, and over the three rolling hills, into the finish line at the 72nd Street Transverse.

After crossing the finish line, of every race, there are always, fantastic volunteers, handing out apples, bagels, water and gatorade!

Once we met up at the finish line, we walked over to Bethesda Fountain. I was super excited to tell him about my new 4 mile finish time! We relaxed and people watched, took some selfies and enjoyed Mother’s Day in Central Park!
